The series «Venus in furs», consisting of 16 different engravings, illustrates the famous text of Leopold Sacher Masoch. Identifying himself with the theme, Dali will very often represent himself by including his self-portraits on the bodies of men, women or hermaphrodites composing this series. The works were treated by the Artist with a total freedom, which reinforces power and movement of the works.
