Realized in order to reconcile with Picasso, Dalí asked Pierre ARGILLET to photograph the lithographs of Picasso’s Bullfight, so that they could then be transcribed on copperplates. Dali then reworked on copper 7 of Picasso’s subjects, to bring his burlesque and surrealist touch, to “Dalinize” it some way. Thus we see bishops wandering in macabre processions, a bull’s corpse ending in the box of a piano, parrots and fish turning into a bullfighter or a giraffe becoming a torch…
